In 2000, Dr. Rajeev Agrawal and Dr. Reena Agrawal left major hospitals in Delhi and Varanasi to build Sohum Nursing Home in Bulandshahr — and have practised here, among their patients, ever since.

MBBS, MS (Gen. Surgery), MCh (Neurosurgery) — IMS, Banaras Hindu University

Born and schooled in Bulandshahr, Dr. Rajeev Agrawal completed his MBBS and MS (General Surgery) at the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University. In 1997 he secured the institute's single MCh Neurosurgery seat through all-India competition, on his first attempt. After working at VIMHANS and St. Stephen's Hospital in Delhi, he returned to his hometown in 2000 — so that neurosurgical care would be available in Bulandshahr itself.

Born in Modinagar, Dr. Reena Agrawal completed her MBBS and post-graduation at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University. After consulting at Ginni Modi Hospital, Modinagar and Jain Charitable Hospital, Varanasi, she has led the obstetrics and gynaecology practice at Sohum since 2000 — with a particular focus on safe, normal deliveries.
